International Wedding In Ljubljana, SLOVENIA

This wedding at the end of June was very interesting time for me. As I met the newlyweds, I knew right away that it’s going to be unbelievable. I was right. The rehearsal dinner was great, but the wedding… well, you can see my wedding photo story, how amazing it was.

Vesna is from Ljubljana, but lives and works in Switzerland, where she has met her Roland. Very interesting couple from all points of view. Marathon runners, keen on music and traveling, photography, … We were on the same frequency right away. Just at the time of the wedding, I hosted two Brazilian photographers. I was visited by great Vinicius Matos and Fabio Ferreira, so they also joined me at this wedding as the second shooters. Thanks to both of them, this way the wedding story became even stronger.

Wedding preparations at Grand Hotel Union and tour around Ljubljana

The wedding was international (there were many foreign wedding guests), in hands of the wedding organizers Zoja and Urša from Hiša vizij. I found very thoughtful the idea to prepare for foreigners tour around beautiful Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana. They could take a walk and be on board down the river Ljubljanica. The wedding preparations were indeed very entertaining.

Vesna dressed her hair at Mic styling and T-Spot took care of her makeup. The dressing of both newlyweds was in Grand Hotel Union, a historic hotel in the very heart of the city Ljubljana. It was constructed in 1905 and designed by architect Josip Vancaš in the Secession style (Art Nouveau), featuring many beautiful details. The construction of Grand Hotel Union was a major architectural achievement of that time.

Wedding at Ljubljana Town Hall (Magistrat)

Then the wedding couple went to Ljubljana Town Hall (Slovene: Ljubljanska mestna hiša, also known as Ljubljanski rotovž or simply Rotovž or Magistrat), where they got married by Zoran Janković, the Mayor of Ljubljana. Ljubljana Town Hall is the seat of the City Municipality of Ljubljana and is located at Town Square in the city center. The original building was built in a Gothic style in 1484, probably according to plans by the builder Peter Bezlaj. Between 1717 and 1719 the building underwent a Baroque renovation with a Venetian inspiration by the builder Gregor Maček, who built based on plans by the Italian architect Carlo Martinuzzi and on his own plans.

The wedding dinner and party at Restaurant As

All these were followed by roving across the city, which ended at Restaurant As, where was the dinner and really great party with Samuel Lucas music band. The As Restaurant boasts the design As Aperitivo Winter Summer Garden, which is open year-round. As Aperitivo, built around a venerable tree that grows freely inside a glass niche, is designed in the style of an open garden. Good music and dancing… crazy party till the end!!!
