Rustic Barn Wedding At Gut Mönkhof In Lubeck, GERMANY
Sophie and Rene are ‘Twin2ight Wedding Photographers‘ from Lübeck in the North of Germany and my friends. I’m so happy that I could be their wedding storyteller because it was really unforgettable. Actually they were formally already married, but they wanted to have an additional wedding celebration with their relatives and friends. This rustic barn wedding was also published in ‘MarryMAG‘, inspiring German wedding magazine.
Engagement photo session in Amsterdam
We first met for an engagement photo session in Amsterdam – the city of bicycles and canals, where we spent a great time together. This Holland’s “Venice of the North”, full of colorful homes, bridges, coffee shops, lazy beers, and art-lovers, is one of Europe’s most picturesque capitals. There’s a floating flower market. For an unusual and memorable alternative to hotels, you can consider staying in a houseboat… Sophie and Rene are a lovely couple, very passionate about each other, and I really enjoyed during our photo session of three wedding photographers in Amsterdam. It was super fun and I was already looking forward to the exchange of their vows in front of the wedding guests later.
Gut Mönkhof wedding
The whole wedding adventure was even better than I could imagine. Sophie and Rene have awesome families and friends. They are very very lucky! Their ceremony was one of the most special, emotional and sincere I have ever experienced. It was a mixture of different cultures. It all happened at Gut Mönkhof, an incredible barn wedding location on the outskirts of Lübeck. It’s a 14th-century family-run traditional house, a special place to celebrate your wedding in harmony with nature. When you are there you feel as you are in pure nature. With plenty of space and surrounded by greenery, chickens, sheep, and donkeys, you can have indeed a memorable wedding at Gut Mönkhof. The estate with its many idyllic corners is perfect as a background for the wedding photos. I really enjoyed being a wedding photographer at Gut Mönkhof.
The wedding organizer Eva Gieselberg did a really great job – everything was perfect, from the schedule to the smallest details. You can see that through my photo story. One of the highlights of this dream wedding in the country was Florina – a donkey who brought me 2 wedding photography awards (ISPWP and Fearless). Another one was the video with some well known wedding photographers from all over the world, sending good wishes to the couple. Uff, there were so many other special moments…

A day after being Sophie and Rene’s wedding photographer in Germany we have made some ‘After Wedding Day Photos’, as the final act of the whole wedding photography adventure, which started with the engagement session in Amsterdam. Some of the photos were published in ‘MarryMAG‘, inspiring German wedding magazine. The shooting took place in some interesting rustic spots at beautiful Gut Mönkhof and continued on the wild coast at the Baltic Sea. It was quite cold and windy, but warmed by a lot of true love…
